The fall membership meeting and training with Janet Dean was a great success! Thanks to all of you who were in attendance and to Janet for providing excellent information. We’re very excited that she is joining us in 2008 to supervise the second Reflective Practice group. Dates for the Reflective Practice group with Janet Dean have been set and plans are underway for an excellent series of Reflective Practice training for participants. There has been an overwhelming response |

from individuals across the state to participate in this second tier of training for professionals pursuing endorsement in Infant Mental Health. The Board and the Association are very excited and grateful for the enthusiasm and momentum shown. This group will benefit greatly from Janet’s leadership, guidance and expertise. The last session of the 2007 Reflective Practice group with Bill Schaefer was held December 6-7 in Norman. Following this session, participants completed the required 50 hours of training for endorsement. A majority of those participants have indicated intent to seek endorsement once the review committee is formed. A core group of five of those participants submitted portfolios to Michigan (MI-AIMH) for application and review. Four of those sat for the exam on February 15. These five will serve as the review committee for the first participants in the OK-AIMH endorsement process. We’d like to thank the professionals who have and will continue to mentor us, the Board and the Association members who have fostered this process and you, the participants, for showing commitment to making services to Oklahoma’s infants and young children and their families a priority. 2-2008 |
