Objectives
To encourage the realization
that infancy is a critical period in the psychosocial development of the
individual To increase the sophistication
of its' members To promote the optimal
development and wellness of the child and family through prevention,
identification, treatment and support so that they may realize their
maximum potential To engage in activities that
encourage cooperation and collaboration with other groups, agencies and
individuals that serve children and families within Oklahoma and its
neighboring states.
Other Information
Historically, primary focus has been on
the first two objectives through information sharing and education Sponsors an annual conference
featuring speakers of national significance Past speakers include
Alicia Lieberman, Charles Zeanah, Michael Trout, Janet Dean, Joy Osofsky & Mary Claire Heffron Sponsors the Povl Toussieng
Award for Leadership in Infant Mental Health Past recipients include
Linda Passmark, Karen Irey, Martha Holmes, Vimila Sekar, Fran Morris, Eva Carter & Jan
Culbertson Sponsors 1-2 membership
meetings per year featuring local speakers and CEU's 2-4 newsletters each year As OK-AIMH has
continued to grow, we've broadened our focus to include all of the
original objectives
